Bean Farmer Pinball Released!

edited December 2014 in Projects - Tools
Hi guys, I've been working on this little project in the last few weeks, and I'm now ready to release as beta. Every pinball table needs a cool theme, and really, what could be cooler than bean farming? So I'd like to present Bean Farmer Pinball.

It took one month to largely complete the coding and graphics and another month to refine the game rules, iron out most bugs, and learn how to deploy to different platforms.

There's still much to do before I release it properly, but I'd appreciate any feedback and bug reports. Especially on Android devices and Linux.

    Nice!

Runs really well on my Nexus 4. Will you be adding ramps?
  • edited September 2014
Yes, ramps are planned, tilt, and multiball as well.

Hi guys, the beta 2 version is up and ready for download.

This is the last version before the final is released. The major changes since beta 1 are: HD graphics, multiball, improved touch zones for Android and a range of bug fixes.

    Worked nicely here!

    Two minor issues:

    - I found it hard to see which of the top lights are lit or not, I think it could use more contrast between the two states
    - I find it hard to pull the "spring" at the bottom right as it's very close to the bottom edge

Thanks, Iarwain. Yes it could probably do with some better contrast. I'll pop a task on the list.

With the spring, are you trying to swipe on top of it? You can swipe anywhere on the screen in any direction, doesn't have to be over the spring.

Let me know and I'll get it sorted if it's an issue. I probably need to make that clearer.

Yep, silly me. I definitely didn't get that part. Much easier now. :)

Beta 2 for linux is now up. Beta 2 is old now, but I've added it for the sake of completeness.

Very pleased to announce that Bean Farmer Pinball is finally released on Android.

Head on over to the website at: http://hippocket.waynejohnson.net

At the moment you can download the straight .APK file. The game is pending approval in the Amazon App Store.

Other platforms will appear over the next few days.

Hope you like it. I'm pretty happy to finally get a title out.

    Thanks, Iarwain.

Now I really do have to go and pack for this trip....

Direct download from the site above or you can also get it from itch.io from there.

I've also added the android version to itch.io as well.

Just got Linux left to go.

    Nice!

How is the new table coming along?
  • edited January 2015
Really well. I've finished all the graphics (maybe I should share a screenshot on the other thread). And set all the body parts for the table.

I just had to get that singleton issue in my head, but the packaging has slowed that down.

    But everything is full swing.

I've finally put up the linux 32-bit binary build, and added to itch.io and desura, as well as direct download.

I gave up the idea of getting it into an rpm for now, just unpack the folder to wherever and play.

So that marks the end of this project. :cheer:

Wait, the end of the first table or the end of the whole pinball project?
  • edited February 2015
    Oh just the first table.

Raster Blaster is very much in active development.
